Bali, Indonesia - Clariden Global will be hosting a 2-day summit, Mobile Banking & Payments for Emerging Asia Summit 2012 - Unleashing the Potential of Mobile Channels to Penetrate Emerging Markets in Asia. As the dedicated platform for senior mobile financial services professionals in emerging Asia, the main objective of this event will be to work towards realizing the potential of the mobile channel for delivering customer value in emerging markets in Asia.

Emerging markets around the world have been embracing the mobile channel as a method to provide banking and financial services, with both banks and network operators working to reach out with solutions & pilots. Berg Insight estimates that more than half of global mobile financial services customers will be in the Asia Pacific, as mobile operators drive initiatives to bank the unbanked.

The Asia-Pacific is expected to be the largest market for mobile banking in terms of the sheer number of users between 2011 and 2016, according to a study by Gartner Inc earlier this May. However, many emerging Asian countries are struggling to reach commercialization due to a range of regulatory barriers, interoperability issues, unsustainable business models as well as difficulty gaining high levels of customer adoption & transaction numbers on the mobile channel.

It is imperative for mobile ecosystem stakeholders to make the right judgement calls on strategies for these unique emerging markets, in the drive to provide anytime, anyplace, anywhere financial options for the emerging Asian population.

To meet this industry need, the Mobile Banking & Payments for Emerging Asia Summit will be held between 8 - 9 October 2012 at the Conrad Bali, Indonesia.
